I grew up in a small town. Very small. I always said I would NEVER stay in that town. I couldnt wait to leave. Could. Not. Wait. For whatever reason, my plan did not work. In fact, it failed in all ways possible. Not only do I still live in this town, but I live on the exact piece of land I grew up on. And I love it. love it. love it, love it.

I also grew up with this adorable couple. It was such an honor to be their photographer. I think every woman who reads this blog will be a little jealous of Amberly. She looks fabulous! Amberly and Jason, I cant wait to meet Bentley. Enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy!

The BEST part of pregnancy…..ice cream never tasted sooooooooo good….

RAWR! work it girl!

Toothless Wonder | mama

We took a field trip to Blue Bell a couple of weeks ago. While we were waiting, Briana smiled quite a bit. She was showing off her toothless grin. She lost a tooth up top. Loosing teeth is a bit of a sore spot for me. I don’t do well. At all. In fact, 90% of the times that I have fainted in my past are due to teeth. Briana’s friend, Alexa, told me that her daddy calls her Toothless Wonder. It has a nice ring to it right?

That week was very eventful for the tooth fairy. Briana lost a total of 3 teeth in a matter of days. I have always worried about my kids loosing their teeth. I admit, the way I handle the loss of teeth would NOT win me Mother of the Year. Not even close. Because I let my 3 year old handle that. Yep. She wets the rag for Briana. She holds the tooth (and waves it proudly in my face…while I try to hold down my dinner). She checks Briana’s smile to see if there is anything gross hanging or showing that might make mommy “fall out”…haha. Enough of that, its not easy to write this.

Stop laughing!

First, Briana lost a bottom tooth. Like LOST it. In the yard. This was like her 3rd tooth to loose outside. About an hour later the girls were playing in their tent. Giggling and singing. Suddenly, I heard crying and the word blood. I ran in to see what was bleeding …Briana’s mouth. Her tooth. not good…not good…find Juan…dont pass out….

Briana was upset about this because this tooth was NOT loose before. While they were playing, Avah bumped Briana in the mouth. Knocked her tooth loose. So loose that it fell out. Yep. Tooth number 2 for the day. Also lost somewhere in the house. Sigh… I sent Avah on a tooth hunt. She crawled around on the carpet looking for a bloody tooth. Yes…she kept saying it too…singing it actually.

Im searching for a bloody tooth! What? A bloody tooth. OH YEAH!

I should add, Juan was in the shower during all of this. I was feeling pale, and Briana kept saying she felt like she was going to be sick. All the while I hear Avah singing about a bloody tooth. She found it a few minutes later. She washed it off and sat it on the coffee table. Briana was pretty shook up. She isnt super excited when she looses a tooth. I think Avah is usually more excited.

She went to bed with sore gums and woke up with $2.00 under her pillow. She is ok with the tooth loss now.

Here she is…my toothless wonder…

While we walked from one location to another, we joked about her going into labor. I laughed along and pretended to be ok with the possibility of delivering her child out in the woods…..but we all know that would have been a disaster. Cant you imagine it? This poor girl having her baby…and her photographer passed out beside her….

Luckily she made it through the session. She had a few weeks left so it wasnt TOO much of a worry. I got an email a few days ago saying she did in fact go into labor just a few days after our session! Everything went well and this beautiful mama to be is now the proud mama of a new bundle of joy. We will introduce the little sweet pea soon. His very own portrait session is coming up.

Mrs. W, you are beautiful! I cant wait to meet the new baby!

I had big plans. Big plans for this session! BIG! I was so ready to pose this beautiful girl on my grandpa’s old boat. It was going to be so fun! We pulled up…and there was the boat…holding two fishermen….awesome.

Oh well! We made it work!!! And though I was not able to use the boat…they turned out so great! Of course, I dare you to get a bad picture of this girl. She is stunning! Thanks Kimberly for a fun afternoon!

I remember playing with the daycare kiddos on the park every afternoon. Next door, a little 1 year old peeked out from behind his granny’s legs. He watched us. I could tell he wanted to come play…but he wasn’t too sure. One day, his mama brought him into my classroom. She told me that he would be staying from that day on. I was so excited…he wasn’t too sure. He was peeking at me from behind his mama’s legs this time. After a few days he made himself at home. Eventually I left that daycare, but I still remember each one of those kids. They are all a special part of me. Occasionally I run into them in public. They are all half grown now. And they are all just as cute and sweet as they were when they toddled around in my classroom.

I had such a great time photographing the B family. The oldest is the boy from my story. Its hard to believe he is a big brother. He is also big enough to cut grass and drive around a golf cart. Its just incredible how quickly children grow. Mama and Daddy B…I hope this helps freeze time just a tad. Your boys are so sweet and so polite. They take after their parents though! Thanks for a nice evening. I enjoyed every moment.

I had such a great time with all of these kiddos! Photographing a big group of kids isnt always easy! But the day went so smoothly!! All of the kids are so well behaved. I was very impressed! Ok enough talking….on to the pictures!

This next one is so funny. I just love this little guys expressioin. Dont worry Mom, I got some of him not scratching his head and thinking! But I just LOVED this one! :)

This next little gal was SO excited about being a “model” on my “internet” that I HAD to let her have her own showcase! Mom, tell her I said she is famous! :)

And a little fun group shot! Thank you MDO and MDO kids! I had a wonderful time with you!
